KLOE (Key Lines of Enquiry) Meeting
Council Chamber, West Berkshire Council, Council Offices, Market Street, Newbury, Berkshire RG14 5DL
The new Inspection Regime - are you ready for it? Do you know how strong customer focus needs to be and what levels of corporate support you will need to meet the new challenges of the Audit Commission? It's no longer just a question of what your Benefit's Service does!
We are fortunate to have Kevin Mercer (Head of Revenues & Benefits, Wokingham Borough Council) as our speaker for this meeting.
Wokingham BC were one of the original pilot sites to receive a KLOE inspection so Kevin will be speaking from first-hand experience of being on the receiving end of an inspection.
We would encourage Heads of Service, Senior Officers, key personnel as well as all our IRRV members to attend.

Question Time
Oxford Town Hall in the Long Room, at 5pm
A select audience gathered at Oxford's Town Hall to hear the views of three wise men in the form of Kevin Ducksbury, Gordon Heath and Gary Watson on a variety of subjects from the new NI14 to the use of committal to the questions surrounding what is "exempt accommodation".
All the experts were on fine form and were refreshingly honest and forthright with their opinions.
Phil Adlard, Vice-President of the Thames Valley Association said afterwards:
"For the first association meeting of the TVA we were fortunate to have such a high quality panel. Those who had submitted questions either in advance or on the night weren't disappointed and many issues had been clarified.
It was an encouraging meeting and followed on from the success of the re-launch of the Association in June. We are looking to build on this with our next Association Meeting in November."
