The Role of the Outside Inspector 28 September 2007

The Role of the Outside Inspector 28 September 2007

This course is designed to cater for outside inspectors who visit properties in connection with Council Tax, Non-domestic rates and Sundry debt. The course will also assist those who need an understanding of the work that outside inspectors do. It is often the case that many mainstream courses have little relevance to the specialised role of the outside inspector. This course provides inspectors with the opportunity to review best practice and meet and share ideas with colleagues from other authorities.

This course is particularly relevant given the changes that the government is bringing in for empty business rate properties from 2008. The day underpins the need to maintain the skills of outside inspectors who very often are required to work independently of the office for lengthy periods.

The day will cover:

  • General Provisions
  • Best Practice
  • Case Studies
  • Non Domestic Rate issues
  • Sundry Debt issues

The course will start at 9.30am and finish at 4.30pm with a break for lunch.

The venue is South Norfolk District Council's offices at Swan Lane, Long Stratton, Norwich NR15 2XE

Gary Watson IRRV is a well know face within the IRRV and is a former Past President.  He set up Hayeswater Consultancy in 2004 and now offers professional assistance, practical guidance and technical advice.  He has a range of training courses designed to meet the needs of today's practicioners.

The cost is £80 per delegate - at these prices places go very quickly so book early to avoid disappointment!

See below for how to book your place.
